[Geshe Michael Roach] (0:00 - 1:41)
I know it's very...many of you maybe you are tired. So let's just have some fun. You just ask some questions and then we'll go home and go to sleep, okay?

So if anybody has any questions. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, I'm going to repeat the question so everybody can hear.

When you are drying the teacher, your teacher, there's some kind of magic, okay? All the water comes to five places. Then it's easy to dry them.

Just touch these five places. It's like this, okay? Then we said it looks like the Christian thing also.

Then I think when you meditate a lot, you will find out that there are a lot of connections in the world. Like Dao de Jing and Jingang Jing, there's big connections, you know? Dao, Dao, Dao, Fei Chang Dao, Ming, Ming, Fei Chang Ming.

There's a big connection.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (1:41 - 1:47)
All of these things have connections to other things.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (1:47 - 2:05)
Then you can see them if you meditate a lot. Then when you give a talk in a theater in Guadalajara, you have to say, oh this ship came to India in 326 B.C. with Alexander.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (2:12 - 2:15)
Which is true.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (2:15 - 2:43)
But when your meditation is deeper, then there are, of course there are holy beings, they are appearing in different countries. One person is appearing in many countries according to that country's customs. And this is the goal of our practice also.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (2:43 - 2:46)
We want to become a Buddha.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (2:47 - 3:44)
You will show yourself in many countries, in many clothes, and many faces. So of course there's connections. And you can see them if you meditate more.

You don't have to say it came on a ship from from Israel to India. Buddha goes to India when they want to go to India, without a ship. That's our goal.

We want to help the old lady on the bus in Hong Kong, and at the same moment we are on the bus in New York in Guadalajara.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (3:44 - 3:50)
And we are helping three different old ladies. That's the goal.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (3:51 - 4:11)
And not just one world. There are millions of worlds, and we have to go to each of them. Okay, next question.

You choose, then they won't get mad at me.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (4:34 - 4:42)
She wants to detail a repetition of the second step to eliminate bad karma.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (4:42 - 5:48)
Okay, so there are four steps to taking out old bad karma. Then many of you learned them during DCI. Then we are lucky because those are going to come this week in the book.

Then they are called four powers, because you can punch out the bad karma. Then she's asking a question, can you talk a little bit more about the second one? So I will give a little explanation, but the big explanation will come later this week.

So I have a gardening teacher, and they teach me how ...

[Geshe Michael Roach] (5:48 - 5:55)
I don't know how to make a garden, they are teaching me for three years now.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (5:55 - 5:58)
And I have a consultant in Guelph, Canada, named Angelo.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (6:04 - 6:16)
So my teacher said, we need to buy some hay or straw to put on the ground.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (6:17 - 6:31)
So I don't know anything about hay. Then I went to the store to buy the hay, hardware store. And I said, do you sell hay?

[Geshe Michael Roach] (6:32 - 6:34)
This is an Ace Hardware in Sedona.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (6:35 - 7:10)
Then they said, yeah, we sell hay. Then they, which one do you want? He said, how many kinds are there?

There are two kinds. I'm like, what are they? One is alfalfa, one is Bermuda.

He said, Bermuda sounds better than alfalfa. So I said, give me some Bermuda. They are heavy, they are like, I don't know, 70 pounds.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (7:13 - 7:17)
Then I brought them home.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (7:17 - 7:22)
I spread through the whole garden. Then the teacher came.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (7:23 - 7:24)
I said, look.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (7:26 - 7:28)
Then he said, ah, that's Bermuda!

[Geshe Michael Roach] (7:30 - 7:32)
I said, what's wrong?

[Geshe Michael Roach] (7:33 - 7:37)
Each one has a hundred seeds.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (7:37 - 7:40)
It will kill your garden.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (7:40 - 7:59)
Everywhere grass will grow. All the roses will die. All of the sunflowers will die.

Then I said, what can I do? Sweep it up. There's thousands of them.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (8:01 - 8:02)
Bye bye.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (8:05 - 8:29)
Then it took me like, I don't know, three or four days. Every little piece I have to take, clean up. Then sometimes I feel angry.

Bad word came. Then I said, well, I have to do this. I can leave a little bit, it's okay.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (8:31 - 8:38)
Then teacher said, if you leave one piece, next summer there will be thousands.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (8:40 - 8:53)
You have to, actually you have to sweep the ground. Then I did it. Why?

I don't want ten thousand pieces of Bermuda grass next year.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (8:55 - 9:05)
So it's difficult to clean them. But if I wait, I can't have a garden for ten years.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (9:05 - 9:21)
I will never kill all of them, because they will make new seeds and new seeds and new seeds. Bad karma is the same. Every 24 hours it is making new seeds inside you.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (9:21 - 9:23)
It's like cancer.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (9:23 - 9:39)
Cancer splits like that, right? So step number two is to understand I must clean it now. I can't wait for two days or three days.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (9:40 - 9:46)
Because every day it's splitting. You have to clean it now.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (9:48 - 9:54)
It's coming in the book. Rinpoche, I think his math is funny, okay? His mathematics is not exactly correct.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (9:58 - 10:14)
Maybe all lamas have trouble in math, I don't know. He will say in the scripture, if you wait one week, then a thousand more seeds.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (10:16 - 10:21)
So step number two means I must clean it now.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (10:22 - 10:23)
Don't wait.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (10:24 - 10:28)
Because you can clean it. But it's a lot of work.

[Geshe Michael Roach] (10:32 - 10:33)
Good question.
